TORONTO – Higher jackpots and guaranteed prizes are coming to Lotto 6/49.
The lottery will soon be launching three new features across Canada to entice people to play.
With each draw there will be a $1 million prize guaranteed to be won, jackpots that start at $5 million and new free plays that can be won by matching two numbers.
Greg McKenzie, a senior vice president at the OLG said in a press release the changes will make Lotto 6/49 “better than ever.”
However, Lotto 6/49 isn’t just offering more money—it’s also expecting each player to pay more money.
At the same time the new features are launched, each lottery ticket will increase in price from $2 to $3 per play.
The changes come into effect on Sunday September 15, with the first draw set for September 18.
