An investigation is underway in Prince Rupert after the sudden death of a toddler.
Police responded to a call of an unresponsive toddler on Tuesday following an incident that reportedly involved a bicycle and a pedestrian towing a wagon with two children inside.

RCMP and the coroner are now investigating, and police are asking for information from anyone who may have witnessed what happened.
Neighbours suggest the boy was in ministry care — but was recently returned to his parents. Children’s advocate Mary Ellen Turpel-Lafonde could only say that her office was made aware of the toddler’s death.
Her office only gets this notification for children who have been in the care of the ministry.
