Vancouver, Toronto and Halifax voted among world’s best airports

TORONTO — Four Canadian airports have been ranked among the best in the world, according to the 2013 Skytrax World Airport Awards.

Vancouver International Airport was named the top airport in the 10-20 million Passengers category and earned second place for Best Airport Staff in North America.

It ranks 8th overall in the world.

Toronto Pearson International Airport ranks 8th in the 30-40 Million Passengers category and 46th overall. It holds third place on the list of Best Airport Staff in North America.

Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is the 10th best in the Under 5 Million Passengers Per Year category.

Halifax Stanfield International Airport  ranks No. 5 in the same category and was also named the third best Regional Airport in North America. It sits at 58th overall, up 10 spots from last year.

Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport fell from No. 79 overall in 2012 to No. 83 this year.

Overall, the world’s best airport is Singapore Changi Airport.

The Skytrax World Airport Awards are based on 12 million passenger surveys collected at over 388 airports evaluating the total passenger experience from arrival to departure from the airport.
