TORONTO – Regina Hall, Taye Diggs and Terrence Howard stepped out of a Toronto community centre Monday after shooting scenes for The Best Man Holiday, a sequel to 1999’s comedy The Best Man.

The movie reunites the trio with Harold Perrineau, Nia Long, Morris Chestnut, Sanaa Lathan and Monica Calhoun.

Hall’s films include Law Abiding Citizen and the first four chapters in the Scary Movie franchise. Diggs is best known for his role on Private Practice and appeared in the made-in-Toronto musical film Chicago.

Howard earned an Oscar nomination for 2005’s Hustle and Flow and starred in Crash and the Toronto-shot movies Four Brothers and Get Rich or Die Tryin’.

Set in New York City in the lead-up to Christmas, The Best Man Holiday is shooting in Toronto until mid-May.

“I think it’s going to be amazing film and I get teary-eyed thinking about it because there’s some tragedy in it,” Howard told journalists in New York last month. “That’s all I’ll say.”

Malcolm D. Lee – whose latest, Scary Movie 5, is in theatres now – is back behind the camera to direct the follow-up, which he also wrote.

The Best Man Holiday is due for release Nov. 15.
