Global News gets an exclusive look at porpoise rehabilitation at Vancouver Aquarium

It’s a big job caring 24/7 for a critically ill porpoise, but the Vancouver Aquarium is showing us how it’s done.

Levi was spotted in distress on the rocks in Saanich inlet on Vancouver Island last week.

He remains in critical condition unable to swim on his own.

But there have been some improvements.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

He’s developed an appetite and is being brought out of his special sling for exercise several times a day.

Linda Aylesworth got a chance to meet Levi and experience first-hand how much effort it takes to care for a porpoise.
