A commemorative royal wedding plate has surfaced on Etsy ahead of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding but the plate features a different British redhead: singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran.

The £25 (C$44.57) plate, is still on sale on the online marketplace Etsy, featuring a picture of Sheeran alongside Markle, to mark the royal wedding at the Windsor Castle in May.

A photo of the royal wedding memorabilia was shared on Twitter by former royal chef Darren McGrady who wrote, “Loving all the #PrinceHarry and #MeghanMarkle #RoyalWedding2018 memorabilia. Just think some companies should do a little more research first.”

The description on the Etsy page for the plate says, “Celebrate THE wedding of the year with this beautiful china plate featuring portraits of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Whether you choose to eat your toast and Marmite (Harry’s favourite snack) from it, or hang it on your wall, this plate won’t fail to raise a smile and evoke pride in our country’s most cherished couple.”

The seller, named Lucy, has since explained that the Sheeran item was intended, marking the item as an “alternative commemorative royal wedding plate.”

According to the plate’s creator, she was inspired by a mug commemorating the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton. In the case of the mug, a picture of Prince Harry was printed on the mug by mistake.

“It’s entirely deliberate. I bought a Kate/Wills mug when they got married and when it arrived, it was a picture of Harry instead of William,” she said.

She continued:”It inspired me to do something similar, and when I was thinking of a random redhead, I thought Ed would be perfect. It’s been pretty popular!”

Prince Harry and Markle are set to marry at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor on May 19.
