Fire tears through No Name Auto Mart in Winnipeg

Fire crews were busy battling a blaze Tuesday night in the city’s West End.

Crews arrived on scene at 951 Portage Avenue just after 8:30 p.m. at No Name Auto Mart.

At one point, there were 18 fire trucks working to battle the blaze.

One firefighter was sent to hospital in stable condition Tuesday night and was released Wednesday morning.

No other injuries have been reported.

Westbound Portage Avenue between Arlington and Lipton were closed but have since reopened. Banning Street was also closed between Portage and Einarson and has reopened.

There is no word yet on what caused the blaze or the cost of damage.
