SIOUX LOOKOUT, Ont. – An Ontario Provincial Police officer is facing charges after an alleged incident in the northern part of the province.
Provincial police did not disclose many details about the alleged incident in Sioux Lookout, Ont., other than to say it involved an officer who was off duty at the time.
A constable assigned to the local detachment with 10 years on the force is now charged with assault and assault with a weapon.
A 37-year-old woman has also been charged with the same offences in the incident.
The OPP says it is not releasing names in order to protect the identity of the victims.
The officer has been suspended with pay.
