Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash north of Prince Albert, Sask.

A man is dead after he was struck by a vehicle on Highway 2, Prince Albert RCMP said on Saturday.

At around noon on Friday, police and the Buckland Fire Department were called to reports of an injured pedestrian approximately four kilometres north of Prince Albert, Sask.

RCMP said the vehicle involved fled the crash scene.

The 58-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are not releasing his name but said he is from Montreal Lake.

An RCMP collision reconstruction investigator attended the scene. Traffic was restricted to one lane but was reopened late Friday afternoon.

The hit and run is under investigation.
