Hurricane Harvey dumped more than 1.21 metres of rain on Houston, Texas since making landfall Friday, leaving much of the city under water.

More than 13,000 people have been rescued in the Houston area and surrounding suburbs after nearly five days of torrential rain that resulted in the deaths of at least 20 people.

On Tuesday, officials said nearly all Houston-area waterways inundated by Harvey’s record rainfall have crested, but that water levels continue to rise in two flood-control reservoirs.
