IWK Health Centre president and CEO Tracy Kitch is leaving the organization in Halifax.
In an emailed statement to Global News, IWK board of directors chair Karen Hutt said Kitch was leaving to pursue other opportunities.

Kitch was named CEO and president of the IWK in 2014 and according to Hutt and led the organization through development of their strategic plan.
Hutt said the search for a new president and CEO will take place shortly. Dr. Krista Jangaard, the IWK’s vice-president, medicine and academic affairs has been named interim CEO. Jangaard joined the IWK in 1996.
She said that Jangaard and other members of the senior executive will be meeting with their teams in the coming days to provide further updates.
