Abbotsford man pleads guilty in 2015 death of Giuseppe Zecca

An Abbotsford man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in connection to a 2015 murder. Global News

A 31-year-old man involved in the 2015 murder of Giuseppe Zecca pleaded guilty in Abbotsford Provincial Court on Thursday.

On May 10, 2015, police were called to the area of Vedder and Lonzon roads just after 11 p.m. following a report of a man suffering from a head injury that happened during an assault.

When officers arrived, the victim who was identified as the 38-year-old Zecca, was getting treatment from BC Ambulance. But despite the paramedics’ efforts, Zecca died at the scene and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called in.

Two suspects from Abbotsford were identified and arrested days after the homicide. On May 12, 2015, Andrew Provencal, 26, was arrested and pleaded guilty to one count of assault with a weapon and one count of uttering threats.

On May 13, 2015, Shiloh Davidson was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. On Thursday Davidson pleaded guilty to manslaughter in Abbotsford court.

Davidson has been in custody since he was initially arrested and will remain behind bars until his sentencing in December.
