Police are investigating after a body was located in an elevator in a downtown Toronto condominium early Friday morning.

Toronto police were called to a residential high-rise at the intersection of Adelaide Street West and Widmer Street around 6 a.m.

Toronto EMS said a male in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene.

A building employee told Global News the concierge located the body in the elevator overnight.

“The one that was here overnight said the elevator opened and saw someone passed out on the elevator,” Seth Kadish said. “That’s when he made the call.”

The circumstances surrounding the death are under investigation.
