Gas prices across Metro Vancouver to drop by 7 cents: expert

Gas prices around Metro Vancouver are set to slide this week, according to a fuel analyst.

Gasbuddy.com analyst Dan McTeague says prices are set to fall from a high of $1.42.9/litre — the highest prices have been in Vancouver in almost three years –beginning Thursday night.

“It looks like the law of gravity is going to finally apply to gas pumps,” McTeague told CKNW. “What goes up must come down, and if people can hold on until midnight tomorrow night, that’s Friday night at midnight, they will in fact save about seven cents a litre.”

Prices should fall two cents beginning Thursday at midnight and a further five cents by Saturday.

The reprieve is thanks to two refineries in Washington State resuming operations after scheduled maintenance.
