QUEBEC CITY – Stéphane Bédard, the president of Quebec’s treasury board, released the Parti Québécois government’s 2013-2014 spending estimates Thursday – as well as the party’s planned spending cuts.
Here’s a quick look at what’s in store for the province.
Spending hikes:
– Health spending up 4.8%
– Education up by 2.2%
– Family budget (for extra daycare places) up by 3.2%
– $1.1 million increase for the Office de la Langue Française
Spending cuts:
– $120 million from housing budget
– $78 million from natural resources
– $61 million from employment programs
– $17 million from family assistance
– $4.1 million from environment
– $1.3 million from economic development fund
– $373, 000$ from primary and secondary school budgets
