TORONTO – Calgary head coach Dave Dickenson was prickly with media members ahead of his team’s practice Friday, irked over suggestions the Stampeders will take Ottawa too lightly in Sunday’s Grey Cup.
“I don’t get why people are saying we’re looking past ’em. Where are we looking? It’s the next game, it’s the only game that matters,” Dickenson said with a scowl.
The Stampeders, who went 15-2-1 in one of the finest seasons in CFL history, are currently 10-point favourites to beat the Redblacks at BMO Field.

The Stampeders won five of the annual CFL awards on Thursday night. But a day later, Dickenson, who won coach of the year, said none of that matters.
“I’ve been to these award shows, the team that wins the most games wins the most awards,” he said. “So I knew we were going to win the awards, our players deserved it and I’m happy for them. And now it means nothing to this game.”
The Redblacks, meanwhile, finished first in the weak East Division with an 8-9-1 record this season.
