Winnipeg teacher, Kevin Dilk, still missing as friends, family continue search

WINNIPEG — The search for a missing teacher has left a Winnipeg community shocked and devastated.

On Friday, family and friends were out searching for 50-year-old Kevin Dilk.

He was last seen Wednesday morning in the St. Boniface area.

His sisters, Heather and Michelle, said it wasn’t unusual for Dilk, who is a French teacher, to be up early for a walk or heading in to school.

Both sisters are spearheading a search for their brother and were putting up posters around the area where he was last seen.

Parents in the school he taught at, Collège Béliveau, told Global News Dilk is one of the most dedicated teachers they’ve ever met. He’s the kind of teacher who takes every child under his wing and personally invests in their success, parents said.

Family and friends said they’ll continue to print out and post photos of Dilk until they find him or have closure.

Winnipeg police describe Dilk as 160 pounds, 5’9 with short brown and grey hair, brown eyes and glasses. He is believed to have left on foot without his wallet or phone.

He may have been wearing a black leather jacket, button-up shirt, blue jeans, a black hat and black boots.
