Calgary police announced Wednesday the death of a man found in a Bankview residence on Tuesday has been deemed suspicious.
Homicide detectives were called to an apartment building in the 1800 block of 17 Street S.W. on Tuesday where they found the deceased inside and an injured man outside.
The Calgary Fire Department told Global News a man rang the doorbell at Fire Station No. 2 at around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday to tell them he thought his roommate was dead.
They said when the man was asked for his address, he said he couldn’t remember, so crews drove him to an address in Bankview where they found a dead person inside.
Police said Wednesday that “early indications” lead them to believe the death is suspicious in nature. However, it is protocol in all undetermined deaths to send the Homicide Unit and the medical examiner.
An autopsy was underway Wednesday.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Calgary Police Service at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers.
