A goat stolen from a Maugerville, N.B. farm has been returned just in time for its Santa Claus parade debut.
Walter the goat went missing from Moxon’s Country Pumpkin farm late Friday evening. After no sign of the goat over the weekend, his owners took to social media, asking for his safe return.
Country Pumpkin manager Mindy Cardinal said a Facebook post Monday night garnered lots of attention – getting close to 90,000 views, and leading to Walter’s return.
“We heard a little commotion last night and all the critters were together and we kind of knew when he came home,” Cardinal said.
Cardinal said Walter was returned unharmed. She says everyone is happy to have him back. Cardinal says he’s “part of the family” and a big part of the farm.
Country Pumpkin cashier Beryl Johnstone said everyone was “very sad that he was missing”.
“I’m very happy that Walter is back,” Johnstone said.
Walter will get to ride on a float in the Fredericton Santa Claus parade on Nov. 26, along with his brother Clifford.
Johnstone says Walter is a “happy goat” now that he’s home safe and sound.
