At around 7:45 a.m. Sunday morning, Edmonton police were called to an alley north of 109 Street and 51 Avenue in response to a reported fire.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found remnants of a small structure fire.

Then, at around 6 a.m. Monday morning, police were called to the same area for another fire. They found a Jeep on fire next door to the fire from the day before. The owner of the Jeep said it was lit on fire after gas was dumped on it.

“[I feel] sick to my stomach, yes,” Matt Eberle said. “Makes me a little worried… scared to be here nowadays.”

Less than two hours later, a few houses down from the previous two fires, police found a motor home on fire.

“As I came out, I noticed down the alley that there was a motor home on fire,” Eberle said. “Flames are shooting 90 feet in the air.”

Investigators believe all three fires were deliberately set and they are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in that area throughout the early morning hours.

Police do not have any suspects at the moment but they continue to investigate.

“What is next? Because if you’re going to start on vehicles maybe you’re going to do a house next,” Eberle said. “We don’t want that. Nobody wants that.”
