Honouring the Canadians who fought on the beaches of Dieppe

On 19 August 1942, more than 6,000 soldiers, mostly Canadians, attacked the German-occupied port of Dieppe in northern France.

It began at 5 a.m.

This past summer, Master warrant officer Cameron Stevens, Pipe Major of the Blackwatch, paid tribute to those who lost their lives and fought in that raid.

It was 70 years to the minute from when the Canadians hit the beaches – at 5:20 a.m.
