One of the people charged in the death of 18-year-old Baylee Wylie has been found guilty of first-degree murder and arson.
A jury delivered the verdicts in Devin Morningstar‘s case Friday.
Wylie’s body was found in a burned out Sumac Street residence last December by firefighters who were called to the scene to put out a fire.
Two other suspects, Tyler Noel and Marissa Shephard, fled the scene.
Both are also charged with first-degree murder and arson. A Canada-wide arrest warrant was issued for the pair on Dec. 28.
Noel was arrested in January after police found him in a vehicle in Petitcodiac. Police were called to the area for reports of a break and enter in Elgin, where it is believed Noel had been hiding out in a camp or cottage in Elgin.
Shephard continued to elude police for much longer, prompting RCMP to release a video in January pleading for any information about her whereabouts.

Police finally arrested her near a hotel in Moncton in March.
She was sent for psychiatric assessment and eventually deemed fit for trial.
Shephard’s preliminary hearing is set to begin on May 1.
Noel’s trial is set to begin in October 2017.
