A young boy who missed Game 1 of the World Series when he was knocked out by a Cleveland Indians fan will be in the Wrigley Field stands on Friday thanks to the Chicago Cubs.

Johnny Wallach was celebrating his eighth birthday Tuesday by seeing the Chicago Cubs play their first World Series game since 1945.
But the game was cut short for him when he was elbowed in the head by a Indians fan during the first inning.
“He lost consciousness for a second. I caught him,” David Wallach, Johnny’s dad, told WBBM. “We were sitting in the bleachers and found the police and got paramedics.”

The pair missed the game after Johnny was stretchered out of the stadium and taken to hospital.
“We saw half of an inning of baseball,” David said.
Despite suffering a head injury and having his beloved team lose Game 1, Johnny told his father that he was “glad” they went to the game.
“I was feeling really mad and now I feel fine,” Johnny told WBBM on Thursday, after learning the Cubs wanted to help fix his broken dream.
“I’m happy because I get to go to the World Series tomorrow.”
When the team heard about what happened to Johnny, they gave him and his dad a pair of tickets to see Game 3. Friday’s game will represent the first World Series game to be played at iconic Wrigley Field in 71 years.
According to David, the Cleveland Indians also reached out to the family to apologize for the unfortunate incident on Tuesday and invited them back for another game in Cleveland in the future.
