Two men charged with aiding Saskatoon Correctional Centre inmate escape

Two men have been charged with aiding an inmate’s escape from the Saskatoon Correctional Centre last month.

Saskatoon police have charged two men with aiding an inmate escape lawful custody last month.

On Sept. 24, Travis Funk, 34, escaped from the Saskatoon Correctional Centre and got into a waiting vehicle.

Funk was arrested by RCMP in Merritt, B.C., on Oct. 21. Funk was in the company of a 24-year-old woman alleged to have assisted him in his escape.

Both Funk and the woman are expected back in Saskatoon to face charges in a few days.

The investigation by Saskatoon police resulted in the two other men, ages 29 and 35, being charged as party to offence by aiding Funk’s escape.
