WINNIPEG — A 28-year-old Winnipeg man is facing second-degree murder charges in connection to a homicide in North Kildonan.
On Thursday, police were called to the 300 block of Springfield Road just after 3 a.m. Officers found a man suffering from critical injuries after being stabbed. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition but later died.

Police identified the victim as Scott Tates, 23, from Winnipeg.
The investigation revealed Tates and the suspect were known to one another. The two had a dispute and a physical confrontation. The suspect left the house only to return a short time later, armed with a weapon, and seriously assaulted Tates.

Christopher Blair McDougall, 28, has been charged with second-degree murder and assault causing bodily harm.
He remains in custody.
