A video of two Halifax men dancing at Peggy’s Cove has been viewed more than 200,000 times on Facebook since it was uploaded last Friday.
“We put it online, like we do always,” said Kunwardeep Singh.
“And then we became rock stars,” said Davinder Singh (no relation) with a laugh. “I’m really shocked.”
The men are dancers with Maritime Bhangra Group. They shot the video last week.
“Bhangra is the kind of thing that you don’t have to do with planning, you just start dancing. That’s the beauty of bhangra,” said Kunwardeep, referencing the type of dance.
They made sure the spontaneous activity was performed far enough away from the black rocks, he added.

“When you are away from the place where you come from, it becomes really important for you to practice the things which really make you feel at home,” said Hasmeet Singh (no relation), team manager of the group.
“We just want to let people to know that we look different, we wear different type of clothing, but we are the same as you.”
The other aim is to show off the province to encourage more people to visit “because, as a person living in Nova Scotia, we know how beautiful it is. Not many people outside Nova Scotia know it,” said Kunwardeep.
The plan is to create more dance videos in other parts of the province, though the group is keeping those locations a secret for now.
