WINNIPEG – A 7-year-old Winnipeg boy who has muscular dystrophy led a fundraising walk at Kildonan Park.
Timmy Shiels was the ambassador for the Winnipeg Walk for Muscular Dystrophy.
“We’re so proud of Timmy and everything that he’s accomplished in 8 years that people said he wouldn’t and he has,” said his mother Becky Fishwick.
Timmy was diagnosed with the condition when he was 3.
He can walk but on Saturday led the group while riding a bike.
The Walk for Muscular Dystrophy takes place in different cities around the country on different dates.
The walk in Winnipeg raised at least $16,000.
