WINNIPEG — The bargaining team representing members laid off at the Port of Churchill will be meeting face-to-face with OmniTrax management in Winnipeg Wednesday morning.
It will mark the first time the two parties are meeting since the layoffs.

Supporters joined the bargaining team in downtown Winnipeg on Lombard Avenue at 8 a.m.
The union says supporters were there to give a warm welcome to the OmniTrax Chief Operating Officer from Denver, Colorado.

At the end of July, dozens of employees were handed pink slips and told the port would not be shipping grain this season.
Premier Brian Pallister says layoffs at the Port of Churchill were done as leverage for what he called “another bailout.”
