WINNIPEG — Winnipeg cyclists won’t have to worry about strapping on a bike helmet every time they get on their bike – at least for now.

In June, the city launched a study looking into whether or not Winnipeg should require all cyclists to wear helmets. The current law in Manitoba only enforces riders under 18 to wear them.

The study was supposed to head to a meeting at the Standing Policy Committee at city hall Monday. However, city staff have asked for another six months to review what other cities in North America with mandatory bike helmets.
