TORONTO – A United Church committee is recommending an avowed atheist minister in Toronto be defrocked.
The committee concluded that Rev. Gretta Vosper would not be ordained today if she was applying.

Vosper, who enjoys strong support from her east-end congregation, is adamant she does not believe in God.
She also says she does not believe in the Bible.
The committee’s defrocking recommendation will be taken up by the church next week for a final decision.
