Christy Clark travels to Alberta to meet with Alison Redford, talk Gateway pipeline

B.C. Premier Christy Clark is traveling to Alberta on Monday, to air her concerns about the proposed Northern Gateway oil pipeline.

Alberta Premier Alison Redford agreed to meet with her Western neighbour, although the two have been butting heads over the six-billion dollar project.

The Enbridge pipeline would carry crude from the Alberta oilsands to the B.C. coast for export.

Redford has rejected Clark’s demand for a bigger share of the project’s revenues.

Clark insists that B.C.’s environmental concerns be addressed before her government approves the pipeline.

Clark also wants a greater share of the revenues Alberta will earn, arguing that’s required to offset the increased environmental risk.
