Guns and gangs unit lays over 30 charges against 3 in Saskatoon

Members of the guns and gangs unit have laid over 30 charges against three people in relation to a police investigation in Saskatoon.

The unit executed a search warrant around 7 p.m. CT on Monday at an apartment building in the 800-block of Confederation Drive.

Two of the four firearms seized by police were loaded. Officers also found 16.73 grams of methamphetamine, 7.7 grams of marijuana, ammunition and around $14,000 cash.

A 15-year-old girl and a 44-year-old woman are facing charges that include possession of a dangerous weapon, tampering with a serial number, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of marijuana.

The teenage girl is also charged with assaulting a peace officer.

A 17-year-old boy is facing a charge of possession of ammunition while prohibited and breach of probation.

Police are still investigating the incident.
