Police south of Edmonton are asking the public for help identifying the suspect of a sexual assault that took place on New Year’s Eve.
At around 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2015, RCMP said a woman was sexually assaulted near the railway tracks on Rollyview Road and 50 Street in Leduc. Police said the woman did not know the man.
Officers have exhausted all investigative avenues and hope the public will be able to recognize the suspect, with the help of a composite sketch.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian man with dark-coloured long hair and brown eyes. He’s believed to be 16 to 21 years old with what police describe as “dots” on the lower part of his face, which could be acne scarring. The man had a small scar on his upper left lip, which corresponded with a crooked canine tooth on the upper left-hand side of his mouth.
Anyone with information about the man is asked to contact Leduc RCMP at 780-908-7200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-222-8477.
