The 2016 Rio Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is set to officially kick off Friday with the opening ceremony at the Maracana soccer stadium.
The three-hour ceremony is expected to start at 7 p.m. ET with nearly 4,800 performers and volunteers involved in the show.
Last month, Rosie MacLennan was named Canada’s flag bearer and will lead Team Canada into the soccer stadium during the parade of flags.
