Volunteers from the Royal Canadian Marine Search And Rescue are in the area of Pender Harbour trying to save a multi-million dollar yacht that has run aground.
The large yacht is half submerged after allegedly hitting the rocks off Daniel Point.
An eyewitness told Global News the yacht was leaving Agamemnon Channel when it hit the rocks.
He says there is no sign of diesel in the water yet.
Rescue crews say everyone on board is accounted for and safe but the boat is still taking on water.
A pump system is helping keep the boat afloat.
An eyewitness says there are fire trucks at the scene.
A Coast Guard official said the situation is turning into an environmental response.
The name of the yacht is “Bellissima.”
