Caution tape surrounds the area around an apartment building on Rhuland Street in Halifax Friday, after several bricks fell seven stories from the building on Thursday afternoon.

The area has been blocked off to ensure public safety as the matter is being investigated.

No one was hurt when the panel of bricks fell from the side of the building onto the street below.

A structural engineer and occupational health and safety officer were called to the scene on Thursday afternoon, according to city spokesperson Adam Richardson.

An engineer continues to work on a design to secure the rest of the bricks on the building, to ensure no more fall.

The landlord company responsible for the building said Friday they’re glad no one was hurt in the incident.
