If you’ve been following the ongoing drama that is the 2016 U.S. election and have been missing the scathing political reviews of Jon Stewart (formerly the host of The Daily Show), well, get ready.
The 53-year-old got back behind a late night desk, Stephen Colbert’s at the Late Show to be exact, on Thursday to slam the official Republican nominee for president – the “angry underdog” – Donald Trump.
The bit began with Colbert discussing the demise of Fox News CEO Roger Ailes who resigned from the network after a slew of sexual harassment allegations. The conversation then veered toward the election.
“So, uh, thanks for stopping by,” said Colbert in the clip. “Is there something I can help you with?”
“You want to sit here?” asked Colbert.
And with a simple “yes” Stewart took to centre stage for a 10-minute rant.

“The Republicans appear to have a very clear plan for America… One, jail your political opponent; two, inject Rudy Giuliani with a speed ball and Red Bull enema; and three, spend the rest of the time scaring the holy bejesus out of everybody.”
He went on to say many conservatives will have to do something akin to gymnastics in order to embrace Trump as president. “A man who clearly embodies things they have, for years, said that they have hated about Barack Obama.”
That includes right-wing journalists – especially those at Fox News.
What ensues is a diatribe about the things many of these individuals are saying about Trump that they once used against Obama.
