WINNIPEG — A Winnipeg woman is kicking off her 101-year-old birthday with a Blue Bombers-style party.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Misericordia Health Centre threw Minnie Steski a birthday party, where Blue Bombers alumni Rod Hill and Stan Mikawos also attended.
Steski said she’s been watching the Bombers since she was a teenager. She reminisces a lot about the team’s playing history and said her favourite coach of all time is Bud Grant.

Steski said she can’t believe she’s 101-years-old. “Imagine that! I can hardly believe it; (my motto is) just live each day as it comes,” she said.
The former X-ray technician travelled the world when she retired, and said she’s held season tickets to the Bombers and golfed weekly until she was 90.
She currently lives at the Misericordia Health Centre and said she never misses a Bombers game on television.
