Ottawa police say they’ve charged a teacher with sexual assault after allegations that she was having a sexual relationship with one of her students.
Investigators say the woman started the relationship when she was working as a teacher for the Ottawa Carleton District School Board.
They say the incidents happened over the course of a year, from 2013 to 2014, and were reported to police this year.
Kyla Cowan-Wilson, 32, has been charged with sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching and sexual interference.
She is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
