A two-year-old girl is getting plenty of attention online after she threw a temper tantrum for an unusual reason.
She was upset about missing a chance to meet her favourite politician at a Canada Day celebration.
Sophia Popalyar was hoping to meet Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan last Friday in Ottawa, but Sajjan was in B.C.
Sophia’s father posted the video, which has since caught the attention of Sajjan himself.
He posted a video to Sophia and said his staff will get in touch with her parents and try to arrange a meeting for all of them.
“I’m looking forward to meeting you because one of my goals is to meet with future leaders of Canada,” said Sajjan.
But this is not the first time the Moncton toddler has made headlines for her political interests. Last December, a video of Sophia also went viral of her naming about half of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s cabinet.
Sajjan Tweeted Thursday morning to say he has now met Sophia.
