MADISON, Wis. – A University of Wisconsin-Madison student’s family says he’s gone missing in Italy.

Nineteen-year-old Beau Solomon’s family told WISC-TV that Solomon left last week to study at John Cabot University in Rome. They said he was at a bar Thursday with friends but when the group decided to leave he was gone. His friends reported him missing when he didn’t show up for class the next day.

The family says Solomon’s credit cards have been used since he disappeared.

Solomon is from Spring Green. Lori Berquam, UW-Madison’s dean of students, issued a statement Sunday saying the school was working with John Cabot University and Italian authorities to locate Solomon.

The statement said Solomon had just completed his first year as a personal finance major at UW-Madison.
