Kit Harington can’t get enough attention.

The actor says his desire for the spotlight stems from the fact his birthday falls the day after Christmas.

“My whole family just descends on my birthday and I get no attention. I like attention. I always end up getting really grumpy and selfish on my birthday,” he said in a recent interview with W Magazine.

He’s also not happy with the amount of effort his family put into getting him a birthday gift.

“I think I got a Harry Potter Cluedo set last year,” he laughed, adding “that’s just such a token effort, mom and dad.”

The 29-year-old Brit also recalled his “Game of Thrones” audition where he showed up with a black eye. Harington said he got into a fight at a a fast-food joint the night before, after a man insulted his then girlfriend.

“I think that man who’s punched me in the face may have helped me get the job,” he said, “so if you’re watching, thank you!”

Harington also revealed he was anxious about the death of his character Jon Snow every season and when it finally happened, it was hard to keep his impending resurrection a secret. But it wasn’t as terrifying as falling asleep on the table on which Snow’s body was laid to rest.

“There’s nothing scarier than waking up in the middle of ‘Game of Thrones’ world, naked and everyone standing over you and you go ‘Oh my God, I’ve died and I actually ended up in Westeros,” he quipped.

The last episode of the sixth season of the successful show has just been broadcast. Season seven is expected to air in April 2017.
