“He came home at 12:30 Monday night and he was yelling on the phone, and I got out of bed and I said ‘what is going on?’” says Debbie.

According to Debbie, Joshua was arguing with a friend who he then went to meet.

It wasn’t until the next morning that she realized Joshua’s fate, when her son called her with the news.

Joshua’s family says the young man will be remembered for his politeness, and willingness to give loved ones a hug.

The suspect in police custody has not yet been formally charged.
