Toronto police have issued a public safety alert after a 14-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted at a Toronto Public Library branch near Fairview Mall on Monday.
Police say the incident happened at 3:06 p.m. when a man approached the girl while she was studying.
He then sat next to her, engaged in an inappropriate conversation and sexually assaulted her, police say.
The girl was followed by the man as she got up and left. She eventually returned to the library and contacted police.
The man is described as in his mid-20s, 6’0” tall, 185 lbs., slim build, with short, straight, light-brown hair, receding hairline with sideburns and clean-shaven.
He was wearing brown lens sunglasses, a lime-green T-shirt, dark-blue/black loose-fit jeans and grey shoes with white soles and laces. He was carrying a rectangular leather bag with a handle.
