Prince George RCMP are continuing to investigate a homicide this morning.
The victim, a 33-year-old man, was shot at about 11:20 p.m. last night outside a home in the 3600-block of Forest Avenue near Ospika Boulevard.
Prince George RCMP said they found the man dead in the driveway of the home and that he suffered at least one gunshot wound.
Although it’s early in the investigation, police said the shooting was targeted and the public is not at risk.
The Major Crime Section has been called in to lead the investigation.
This shooting comes after a targeted shooting in another Prince George neighbourhood that left residents in the crossfire.
On Friday, someone opened fire on Freeman Street about four kilometres from the shooting last night. One of the bullets shattered a neighbour’s window but no one was hurt.
Police say the violence was linked to the drug trade. There is no word on whether the two shootings are connected.
Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to call Prince George RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
