Taking a page from James Bond’s manual “How to employ nifty gadgets to escape a car pursuit” might not turn out the way you’d hope.
Lithuania police released a video on their Facebook page of a Volvo trying to evade police by deploying a smokescreen and throwing out spikes on the road.
In the video, a police car is chasing the suspect when suddenly smoke starts emitting from the backside of the Volvo.
The police car tries to pass but is repeatedly blocked by the Volvo driver.
The suspect then releases spikes as the police car catches up and the Volvo bolts off.
Eventually the police cruiser was able to pin the car to a highway guard rail.
There are two lessons to learn from this video: the effectiveness of James Bond’s car gadgets is probably overstated and you’ll never get far trying to escape in a Volvo.
