Funnel cloud spotted near Miami, Manitoba

There was large funnel cloud near Miami, Man. Tuesday afternoon, according to Environment Canada.

Garett Darby, who is from Morden, Man., tweeted out a picture of the funnel cloud around 2:45 p.m. He said he saw the funnel cloud touch down for around 30 seconds.

Environment Canada could not confirm if there was a touch down.

There were no tornado watches or warnings in effect at the time of the sighting.

“There was a rainfall warning in place, and some thunderstorms in the area at the time of the funnel cloud,” Environment Canada meteorologist Mark Melsness said.

He added there is no longer a threat of a funnel cloud in the area.
