Arrest made after bulldog puppy stolen from 12-year-old boy in Brampton

An 11-week-old American bulldog puppy stolen from a 12-year-old boy while out for a walk in Brampton, Ont. has been located and returned to its owner, Peel Regional Police say.

The puppy, named Junior, was being walked by the boy and another child with a dog in the Ray Lawson Boulevard and Stalbridge Avenue area at around 5 p.m. Monday, when it was grabbed by an unknown suspect.

The suspect then fled in a red SUV that police said was waiting nearby.

Police confirmed Tuesday that the dog has been recovered and reunited with the boy.

They say one person is in custody and will be charged in connection to the theft. Police say more arrests may follow.
