1 dead, 3 seriously injured following early morning crash in Coldstream, NS

RCMP say a single vehicle accident in Coldstream, N.S. has claimed the life of a 19-year-old man.

Around 3 a.m. on Sunday morning, a Honda Accord with four people inside left the road, rolled and crashed into a culvert. RCMP say two of the passengers that were in the rear of the vehicle were ejected as a result of the crash.

The driver, an 18-year-old man from Brookfield, was transported to the QEII hospital in Halifax with life-threatening injuries.

Two passengers, a 20-year-old man from Stewiacke and an 18-year-man from Brookfield, were transported to hospital with serious injuries.

RCMP say the third passenger in the vehicle, a 19-year-old man from Coldstream, died at the scene. His name has not been released

A portion of the Coldstream Road is expected to be closed for most of the day while police investigate.

RCMP say several factors are being examined; at this point, they are not ruling out that alcohol may have been a factor in the fatal accident.
