REGINA – Grab your snorkels and water wings, and your dogs! It appears the City of Regina is considering a swim party for our canine companions later this summer.
City administration is considering a new program that would allow dog owners to bring their pooches to a local city-run pool for a dog swim.
The proposal, which still needs to be approved by council, would allow dog owners to bring their pets to a designated city pool before it is drained at the end of the season.
This is already being done in similar municipalities including Saskatoon.
In order to be approved city council would need to adjust a bylaw that would allow animals to be off leash on city property for the swim.
